Nativeness Notes
Although this species is native to North America, it is not endemic or indiginous to YNP. Its occurrence in the park is essentially accidental and well outside its accepted range (McEneaney 2004, NatureServe 2006, Sibley 2003), possibly resulting from human release (Dorn and Dorn 1999). This suggests that it does not, and probably never did, regularly occur in the park. Thus, its nativity in the park is uncertain and best classified as unknown or non-native.; Data Source: Doug Keinath-Lead Zoologist-Wyoming Natural Diversity Database Legacy NPSpecies information may no longer be applicable, please remove if it is not applicable.
