Urbatsch (2008). Tulane University voucher specimens by Bretting #111 and 116 for Chalmette Unit were misidentified (as Aster ericoides, =Symphyotrichum ericoides) and redetermined to be Symphyotrichum lateriflorum by L.E. Urbatsch (2008). LSU voucher specimen for Barataria Unit by Maliakal #172 was misidentified (as Aster lateriflorus) and redetermined to be Symphyotrichum lateriflorum by D.M.
