Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Introduced, from Europe. Annual herb. May-June. Fresh marsh, salt marsh. Frequent towards S especially in Fox Hill levels, but infrequent towards N on Assateague. Infrequent in MD except towards coast on Eastern Shore. A probable pasture grass for the wild ponies. (Higgins #73).
