Park Species Detail: Synonym = Viola nuttallii, Viola nuttallii var. major, Viola nuttallii var. vallicola, Viola vallicola var. major, Viola vallicola var. vallicola. Infraspecific varietal standings within Viola vallicola have been removed as per Intermountain Flora (Vol 2B, 2005): "I cannot separate into morphologically recognizable, geographically significant groups," and A Utah Flora (3rd ed, 2003): "Only arbitrary separation [between vars. major and vallicola] seems possible." Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally occurring (or expected to occur) throughout the Park Unit, usually except at greatest elevations of the foothills. Original data for this Park-Name Profile record were derived and entered by Steve J. Popovich, based upon a preponderance of evidence and the best scientific and commercial data available, including all specimen verifications by, and personal knowledge of project, park, and regional experts.
