Park Species Detail: Checklist information (abundance, nativity) updated 4/9/03 by professional judgement of Bruce Connery, ACAD wildlife biologist. Witt (1997) reports this species in areas adjacent to the park. One shot at Southwest Harbor on 10 February 1940. Palmer (1949) One shot on 10 February 1940 at Southwest Harbor. Bond (19??) rare winter visitor, one February record. Tyson and Bond (1941): Adult shot at Southwest Harbor February 10, 1940. Sullivan (1940) Observed on an ice cake near a warf at Southwest Harbor and later shot at Southwest Harbor on 10 February 1940 (W. Gilley).
