Park Species Detail: During their 1996-1998 survey, Berry & Young (2004) did not find any Grass pickerel in the Fort Randall district and found one in the Gavins Point district. Berry and Young also note that Esox americanus vermiculatus is "the subspecies for grass pickerel that is native to the Mississippi River basin and the Sand Hills of Nebraska", Park Species Data Source: Berry & Young (2004)
