Park Species Detail: Britt, 1993: Notropis hudsonius, spottail shiner (resident, native). This species occurs on the Atlantic Slope of the North American Continent from the Altamaha drainage, Georgia, northward to Connecticut and Thames drainages (CT, MA and NH) and has centered the Chattahoochee system in Georgia. Normal adult size is 75-114 mm total length with 132 mm total length being about maximum for the species. Life span is 2 to 4 years. Spawning takes place in late June and early July.
