Notes
Park Species Detail: A sparse permanent resident with three records; one road-killed at Page on xx May 1999 (Alston), one road-killled near Big Water on xx June 1996 (LaRue) and one seen alive then found dead at Sooner Rocks, Escalante Bench (Goetze). Two out of three records are road-killed specimens only, which suggests they are much more common in the park than would be expected with only three records, since obviously they are more easily hit by trucks than seen or heard, and the trucks probably aren't sampling the park thoroughly, thus the owls should be under-represented., Park Species Data Source: Spence et al. 2005
