Occurrence Notes
White et al. did not document in park, and Patton et al. did not capture in Belle Fourche, but Lee et al. indicates presence in Belle Fourche basin. However, I'm not convinced that walleye were native this far west; sauger were probably more likely to have been native there. present in the park due to 1990 voucher; Data Source: DETO wildlife sighting card as reported by Bob Hoffman and Marina Tigner (see Sander vitreus Observation ID: 1995-1). Nativeness Notes
Lee et al. indicates presence in Belle Fourche basin. However, I'm (White) not convinced that walleye were native this far west; sauger were probably more likely to have been native there. Fishes of Wyoming (G. T. Baxter and M. D. Stone, 1995) states "The walleye is native from southern Canada and the Dakotas east to the Atlantic Coast and south to southern Alabama and Georgia. Where introduced in Wyoming, it has become common in many reservoirs (except West of the Coninental Divide) since the 1960s. It had been introduced into Wyoming in the early part of the century but was not established at that time."; Data Source: Lee et al., G. T. Baxter and M. D. Stone, 1995

Notes
Park Species Detail: The observer referred to this organism only by its common name: walleye. It is assumed that Sander vitreus is the correct scientific name. Two walleye were observed at site #106 while checking fish traps during a fish survey. One walleye was reported to be 15" and the other was reported to be 12"., Park Species Data Source: DETO wildlife sighting card as reported by Bob Hoffman and Marina Tigner (see Sander vitreus Observation ID: 1995-1).
