(Strausbaugh and Core 1977); the Manual of Vascular Plants of Northeastern United States and Canada, 2nd ed. (Gleason and Cronquist 1991); Identifications of Carex specimens were completed using the Flora of North America, Vol. 23 (Ball and Reznicek 2002).
