Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb. July-Oct.Fresh marsh and salt marsh, but most frequent in the transition zone between them. Frequent to infrequent but widespread on Assateague, most frequent in the extensive Fox Hill levels where it forms large colonies. Frequent in coastal areas of MD. (Higgins #102). MD & VA.
