Park Species Detail: During their 1996-1998 survey, Berry & Young (2004) found 21 Sauger in the Fort Randall district and 79 in the Gavins Point district. Berry & Young refer this species as Sander canadense. Since the authors also list this species as "sauger", ITIS has the scientific name for sauger listed as Sander canadensis and is assumed to be correct., Park Species Data Source: Berry & Young (2004)
