Notes
Park Species Detail: The type specimen of the tidewater goby was collected from Tomales Bay by Girard's team in the 1850s. The the collectors were with a team from the U.S. Army that was surveying routes for the transcontinental railroad. The species was named Gobius newberrii in the report of the railroad surveys. When Girard described the species a few years later he named it Gobius newberryi . The current accepted name is Eucyclogobius newberryi., Park Species Data Source: Self, D. W. and J. F.
