Occurrence Notes
A casual winter and spring visitor to the Colorado River, most often seen on upper Lake Mead. The six records are as follows: Three were present at RM 260 on 22 Jan 1998 and again on 27 Feb 1998 (John R. Spence, Nikolle L. Brown, Brian H. Dierker, Charles T. LaRue), with two remaining on 13 May 1998 (Nikolle L. Brown, Charles T. LaRue). One was at Salt Creek at RM 255 on 3 Apr 2000 (Charles T. LaRue), one was at RM 274 on 5 Apr 2000 (Charles T. LaRue), while another was photographed at Phantom Ranch from 16-18 May 1977 (Lili Simpson and Stan Stockton). Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
