Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Introduced, from Eurasia. Tree. Leaves immature. March-April. Disturbed sands, shrub succession, old house sites. Infrequent but widespread on Assateague, less frequent than #476 (Populus alba in ASIS herbarium). Infrequent in MD. A hybrid between P. alba and P. tremula. No Higgins specimens were found at MARY.
