Notes
Park Species Detail: Wiegand, 1995: Mountain pimpernel (Taenidia montana), a state-threatened plant species, was documented on the shale slopes and harsh barrens at the Sideling Scourbar site. This is one of approximately fifteen extant populations for the species in Maryland. Many of these are small populations occurring on shale habitats above the Potomac River. The distribution of this species closely coincides with the extent of the shale-belt from extreme southern Pennsylvania, through Maryland and southward into western Virginia and West Virginia. Recent fieldwork indicates the species occurs too frequently within its restricted range to be officially listed as a federally threatened or endangered plant species. One updated occurrence documented in the survey area from Sandy Hook West to Cumberland, Maryland., Park Species Data Source: Wiegand, 1995
