Notes
Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb. Aug.-Oct. Woodland. Shrub succession, disturbed sands. Infrequent to locally frequent on Assateague, frequent on the coastal plain of MD. Reported by Higgins as A. virginicus var. abbreviatus (Hack.) Fern. & Grisc. Also found was A. virginicus var. glaucopsis (Ell.) Hitch., a doubtfully distinct transitional variety, which is being included here (Higgins #29, 30). MD & VA?
