Notes
Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb. Flowers yellow; locally frequent on dunes. May-June. Hudsonia dunes. Frequent on these central dunes on Assateague, very characteristic of the island, not found on the mainland; considered infrequent in MD overall. When the plants are in flower in late May, the island flowering is at its peak and very attractive, but the flowers only last about one week. Important dune stabilizer on the central dunes, as important there as the dunegrass is along the coast, and these plants should not be disturbed. (Higgins #283). MD & VA. Slides: B56-15 to B56-19. See Vegetation Mapping Report./ Hamilton, 2004: Voucher specimens probable at MARY and CNWR./, Park Species Data Source: Hill, 1986
