Park Species Detail: Coman (1987, 1981) Not common on MDI; observed no more than 12 specimens during the past 15 years; pair discovered at the edge of Hamilton Pond during June 1970; also singing in the fields near the Stone Barn on the Crooked Road on 25 June 1971; found about halfway up Western Mountain (no dates given). Davis (1958) reported 2 in 1957 (observations listed), both along the Brook Trail south of The Tarn; 1 collected. Rare on MDI. Manville (1939) found from sea level to 1500 feet elevation on MDI; common. Manville (1938) specimens from Meadow at eastern foot of Champlain Mountain on 28 July 1932 (ANU-3; A. Stupka); also middle of Arthur Murray Young Trail on 11 July 1938 (ANU-15; P. Favour); observed at the talus slope at Valley Cove, base of San Saveur Mountain on 25 June 1938 (R. Manville); observed at summit of Cadillac Mountain on 13 July 1938 (J. Pierce); observed at parking area at Thunder Hole on 25 July 1938(P.
