Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Tree. Flowers white. May-June. Woodland, shrub succession. Infrequent on the island, in the Green Run area only. Infrequent in MD overall, but widespread. Easily recognized by the horizontal branches with large thorns. Found by Higgins only on VA end at lighthouse (Higgins #215). MD & VA. Slides: B40-23 to B40-25./
