Witt (1997): "Stupka (1934) reported this species as "uncommon, often seen in late summer"". For reasons listed, Stupka's assertion seems highly unlikely.
Russell (1984?) 3 records since 1950 including 3 in Bass Harbor on 11 September 1954 and 1 at New Mill Meadow on 18 September 1969 (M. Leach and C. Jellison).
Bond (1969) vagrant occasionally observed on MDI.
Palmer (1949) "...one seen from September 10 to 30, 1934 on Mt. Desert Island (A. Stupka)."
Bond (19??) casual visitant from the south.
