(referring to Osmunda regalis L. var. spectabilis (Willd.) Gray.) = Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb. Fruiting May-June, later than #3 (Osmunda cinnamomea). Fresh marsh, usually wooded areas. Infrequent throughout Assateague, frequent throughout MD. The Higgins specimen at MARY was collected in MD. Reported from VA by Harvill (1967) (Higgins #4, Osmunda regalis L.). MD & VA. Slides: B3-2, B3-3./
