Notes
Park Species Detail: Species Code: AAABH01120; Majorgroup : Amphibians; Family: Ranidae, Park Species Data Source: Converted from COSW plants, macrofungi, & lickens.xls/COSW animals, insects.xls/COSW additional plants, macrofungi, lic.xls files by I & M Office.
Previously an article by Mancke (1979) was included as evidence for Rana heckscheri in this species profile, but a review of the article revealed that this was an error. The species was not included in that report. I have therefore removed it from the cited evidence of occurrence. (M. Parrish 2025-06-09)
Mancke R. 1979. Herptofauna of Congaree Swamp National Monument (Species List). National Park Service https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/Reference/Profile/151590
No current, verifiable evidence of species occurrence (persistence) in park in over 20 years. Downgraded to "Unconfirmed," but if future monitoring detects the species, we can upgrade it to "Present."
