Notes
Distribution: Darsie and Ward (2005): Palearctic; Eastern (excluding Florida),
Central, Northwest United States, Canada. Rarely encountered by humans in the
Southern states. GSMNP: North Carolina, Tennessee.
Egg: Overwinter in the egg stage; uni-voltine. Typically hatch during Spring months.
Larva and pupa: Woodland pools; temporary rain-filled pools in sunny areas;
occasionally in marshes.
Adult: Can be a persistent biter; does not fly far from larval habitat.
