Occurrence Notes
A common summer resident throughout the region. While spring birds typically arrive in mid March, the earliest record is from Salt Creek on 22 Feb 1981 (Charles T. LaRue). Large numbers of fall migrants have occasionally been seen passing over the South Rim in August and September. A steady stream of 414 migrating swifts was seen in one hour at Lipan Point on 17 Aug 2006 (Brian P. Gatlin). Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
