Occurrence Notes
Aa fairly common summer resident of pinyon-juniper and ponderosa pine forests. It is also a very rare summer resident in riparian habitats where twice it has been documented breeding along the Colorado River above Lees Ferry. Black-headed Grosbeak is a fairly common spring and fall migrant in forested areas and an uncommon migrant along the Colorado River.
