An uncommon and irregular permanent resident of mixed conifer forests on the Kaibab Plateau and occasionally some ponderosa pine forests throughout the region. It is an irregular winter visitor to pinyon-juniper woodlands, from 18 Oct to 29 Apr. Conditions may vary among subspecies. Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
