Abundance Notes
This species used to be common throughout most of North America, but has drastically declined since the 1980's. Despite a massive effort at Cornell University, dubbed the Lost Ladybug Project, less than 20 occurrences have been documented, with almost all of them being from the western US. It appears to have been extirpated from almost all of the eastern United States. (NatureServe 2021).
