Notes
Park Species Detail: Preferred name of S. mexicana. Glen Clifton collected a specimen from PORE but called it S. mexicana. IT IS is the source for the name change., Park Species Data Source: BONAP database from contributed material.
Sambucus nigra ssp. canadensis is a taxon not occurring in California, according to the Jepson Interchange; the old name should have been S. mexicana. The name was updated in NPSpecies on 10-17-16, to reflect the Jepson Manual 2.
