Specimen(s) collected during a study of coastal rock pools of Lake Superior at Isle Royale. Two shoreline zones were differentiated using a line between upslope “lichen zone” pools and downslope “splash zone” pools. See citation for details. Ecology — Seeps and wet areas near flowing water. Remarks — IRNP specimens almost exclusively from lichen zone pools. Wide variation within Limnophyes, but IRNP specimens have two distinct morphs and one may be an undescribed species that keys to carolinensis.
