Notes
In the eastern United States, this species has a restricted, largely montane distribution due to its inhabiting foliage of hemlock, spruce, and larch. It was infrequent in the ATBI survey. It is not known south of GSMNP but probably occurs spottily in the mountains south to Georgia. It is parthenogenetic in the eastern United States, but males are common in coastal Washington and British Columbia. It is also found throughout Europe and east to Mongolia.
