Notes
This species is found throughout the eastern United States and southeastern Canada, also on the west coast of both countries. Most populations are parthenogenetic, but in GSMNP and in a restricted area in western Indiana, it is sexual. The sexual populations are associated with stands of hemlock. The species inhabits trunks and branches of many kinds of trees and also rock outcrops. It was abundant in the ATBI survey.
