Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Annual herb. July-Sept. Fruits brick-red, flower buds yellow. Shrub succession, Hudsonia dunes, disturbed sands. Infrequent to locally frequent on the island, mostly from North Beach N. Frequent throughout MD, especially coastal plain. No Higgins specimens were found at MARY.
