Notes
Park Species Detail: Stupka (1963) notes a bird on Abrams Creek in 1942 and another was recorded on Cheoah Reservoir near park in 1994 (Park Observations); uncommon migrant on area lakes. ATBI Sensitivity = Public Species Notes: Rare Migrant; See Siegel-Causey (1988) for analysis of relationships within family. Siegel-Causey (1988) proposed removing this species from the genus PHALACROCORAX and placing it in the genus HYPOLEUCUS; DeBenedictus (1989) concluded that the taxonomic ranks of many g STATUS: Native, Migratory, Occasional, Present in Park;; ; General Notes: Stupka (1963) notes a bird on Abrams Creek in 1942 and another was recorded on Cheoah Reservoir near park in 1994 (Park Observations); uncommon migrant on area lakes.
