Park Species Detail: Wiegand, 2001b: A previously reported occurrence for Spring forget-me-not (Myosotis verna), listed as a highly rare plant species in D.C., was not successfully updated during 1999-2000 field surveys. It was last reported from Chain Bridge Flats by C. Lea (Pers.Comm. 1999) as occurring . . The species was searched for in this general vicinity during 2000 without success. However, suitable habitat remains intact in the area so the species likely still occurs here.Status surveys for spring forget-me-not are recommended to determine its current status at Chain Bridge Flats Survey Site. Found at 1 sites. A Highly Rare plant species known to occur within the District of Columbia portion of LOCO (along the C&O Canal NHP and Potomac River from the Maryland line to Key Bridge, Washington, D.C.) Also a listed species in Maryland. Hamilton, 2007: In Wiegand, 2001b, page 5, listed as documented, but in Table #3, page 70, Total New Occurrences, Total Update Occurrences, Total Sites Found at, all 0.
