It is unknown if this taxon naturally occurs in this Park Unit; the Unit may be slightly too low and dry. It occurs naturally beyond the Unit at greater elevations to the north, where cooler and wetter. The two known sites are planted. Legacy NPSpecies information may no longer be applicable, please remove if it is not applicable. In legacy NPSpecies Cultivation value was Persistent with comment: Apparently historically planted (or seeded?) in this Park Unit behind Headquarters as a wind break (?) and at Crystal Ice Caves, both where weakly persistent.
