Notes
Park Species Detail: Checklist information (nativity) updated 4/11/03 by professional judgement of Bruce Connery, ACAD wildlife biologist. Coman (1987) No verified sight records or specimens of Fisher on MDI, but good evidence (photographs) of tracks of this species near Eagle Lake on 10 March 1985. Exceedingly rare on MDI. Coman (1981): previously considered nearly extinct in New England; no recent sight records on MDI from observers familiar with this species. Manville (1942): notes that "this species is now extirpated on Mount Desert Island"; only cites a track in the snow of a fisher during the winter of 1924-25 (O. Thompson)., Park Species Data Source: Coman (1987) Legacy NPSpecies information may no longer be applicable, please remove if it is not applicable.
