Notes
Park Species Detail: Jason Bazzano (2005) said that two individuals were collected at Ainahou Ranch on large tree trunks near the ranch house. They can perhaps be found elsewhere around this elevation, though Hemidactylus frenatus seems to have entirely displaced them from lower elevation sites; Fred Kraus stated that this species is generally restricted in range to areas lacking H. frenatus, and is often found at elevations about what H. frenatus will tolerate, up to approximately 900 m, and on habitats at lower elevations lacking H. frenatus. Animals are most often seen on large trees with shaggy/scaly bark or on Pandanus tectorius, both of which provide daytime refuges. Never observed to be common in Hawaii since the psot-WWII arrival of H. frenatus. Infrequent in the park., Park Species Data Source: Jason Bazzano, I & M contractor, 2004-2005 herpetological inventory; NATUREBIB-601649, Fred Kraus, 2005 herp inventory, Bishop Museum.
