An uncommon summer resident of grasslands and Great Basin desertscrub with scattered juniper and sagebrush (Corman 2005d), particularly on the Arizona Strip and the Coconino Plateau. At the time of the previous checklist, Bendire’s Thrasher had not been recorded within the Grand Canyon region (Brown et al. 1985). This inconspicuous species may have been simply overlooked in the past, or it may have recently expanded its range into the region. Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
