Occurrence Notes
Has been seen in the region only once. Leroy Arnold saw a single bird near Nixon Spring in the Mount Trumbull region, 29 Jul 1937. Brown et al. (1987) hypothesized that given the sedentary nature of the species, this individual may have been a member of a now extirpated local population. Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011. Annotated Checklist of the Birds of the Grand Canyon Region. 3rd edition.
