A rare spring and casual fall migrant along the Colorado River. Spring migrants occur from 4 Mar to 18 May, while during fall one was at RM 264 on 10 Sept 1977 (Bryan T. Brown, Norman Henderson, Wayne Ranney) and ten were photographed on upper Lake Mead on 10 Oct 2008 (Madeline C. Tighe). Away from the river, California Gull is a casual migrant with four records: one perched on a streetlight in the town of Tusayan on 12 Feb 2008 (Brian P. Gatlin, Madeline C. Tighe), one at the South Rim Sewage Lagoons 17 Mar 1987 (John Coons, H. Reiser), another there on 21 Apr 2010 (Shaun Putz), and one at the Tuweep Ranger Station 22 Sept 1969 (Meribeth M. Riffey).
