Notes
Park Species Detail: Cranberry Meadows, 1997: Rare, Chain Bridge Flats above Arizona Bridge; SYN=aristatus). Wiegand, 2001b: A previously reported occurrence for Awned umbrella sedge (Cyperus squarrosus), listed as a highly rare plant species in D.C., was not successfully updated during 1999-2000 field surveys. It was last reported from Chain Bridge Flats by V.E. Crouch (field form) in 1997. No specific survey effort to relocate this species at Chain Bridge Flats was made during 1999-2000. However, suitable habitat remains intact in the area and the species is likely to still occur here.Status surveys for awned umbrella sedge are recommended to fully determine its current status at Chain Bridge Flats Survey Site. Found at 0 aites. A Highly Rare plant species known to occur within the District of Columbia portion of LOCO (along the C&O Canal NHP and Potomac River from the Maryland line to Key Bridge, Washington, D.C.), Park Species Data Source: Cranberry Meadows, 1997;TNC, 1999; Wiegand, 2001b;
