Occurrence Notes
A fairly common summer resident of open pinyon-juniper woodlands and grasslands throughout the region. The Arizona Breeding Bird Atlas found it to be much more widely distributed throughout the region than Brown et al. (1987), who considered it only of local occurrence in pinyon-juniper. Scott’s Oriole is a rare spring and fall migrant along the Colorado River from late April to mid-May and from late July to early September. Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011. Annotated Checklist of the Birds of the Grand Canyon Region. 3rd edition.
