A rare spring and fall migrant at open water on both rims. As with many shorebird species, birds seen in mid-summer are early fall migrants. The only record from the Colorado River is of one at Matkatamiba Canyon (RM 148) on 8 Sept 1974 (Steven W. Carothers). Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011. (Phalaropus tricolor) Wilson’s Phalarope is a rare spring and fall migrant at open water on both rims. As with many shorebird species, birds seen in mid-summer are early fall migrants.
