Nativeness
Unknown
Nativeness Notes
Probably introduced following the pond construction near what is now the Desert Studies Center at Zzyzx. But early specimen collections pre-date pond construction. Some documents say it was introduced with the creation of Lake Tuendae, but the best estimate of the lake's creation is about 1955. Most voucher specimen's were collected in the 1930's. In addition, the frogs were found throughout the soda springs complex. This leads me to think the frogs were native to the area.; Data Source: Neal Darby, MOJA Wildlife Biologist, 3/14/2012.
