Also spring and fall migrant. Probable breeder in the NYBBA online species lists for block: 1985 5949A. (Possible breeder in 2003 5949A). This block has high probability that breeding confirmations occur within park boundaries. Note: Harbor Herons Project estimates there was possibly one nest at Canarsie Point in 2002. Note: Zuzworsky's Jamaica Bay I&M reference lists this species as a confirmed breeder in 1997.
