Park Species Detail: Sharp (1997) Recorded from within park boundaries during the Breeding Bird Survey conducted June 1996.
Long (1987): Several pairs nest regularly in the vicinity of Sieur de Monts Spring.
North and Chidester (1986) Observed from Jordan Cliffs between July and September 1986.
Russell (1984?) uncommon spring migrant; common breeder and fall migrant; a maximum fall count of 6 at Otter Point on 6 September 1968 (P. Post); Sieur de Monts Spring is the best place to find this species where several pairs have nested during 1968-1973.
Bond (1969) wet areas on the burnt lands of northeastern MDI are the best places to look for the veery; several pairs occur regularly in the vicinity of Sieur de Monts Spring (2 nests found here during the past 5 years).
Bond (19??) rare summer resident (Little Harbor Brook), formerly more numerous; 1 or more nests have been found.
Tyson and Bond (1941): Very rare and local on MDI; Rarest of the thrushes and apparently decreasing on MDI; Occasionally found in the vicinity of Bar Harbor and Little Harbor Brook swale, absent from the backside of the island.
