Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Introduced, from E Asia. Shrub. Flowers rose-pink. May-Sept. Cultivated, perhaps also escaped. In dunegrass areas at N end of State Park, where it is locally frequent. Infrequently planted in MD except along coast. Salt resistant. (Higgins #226). According to Higgins, first introduced to the island at the Wildlife Refuge in 1966. MD & VA.
