Notes
Park Species Detail: Synonyms: Pluvialis dominica fulva; Pluvialis fulva. Engring & Ramsey state that the golden plover is a common migrant that is found on all islands in American Samoa. Most birds were seen on Tutuila around the gold course, the airport, and Pala Lagoon. Some were seen in various open areas at Ofu and Tau. More birds were present from September through April. Amerson states that golden plovers were especially prevalent on the sandy and rocky beaches of all islands, and were present thoughout the year, although abundance was higher in the summer.
