A casual summer migrant along the Colorado River. One was seen in Glen Canyon at RM -14.5 on 9 June 1992 (A. Clive Pinnock), another was at RM 110 on 12 July 1974 (Don Briggs), and a third was seen and photographed at RM 170 on 4 August 2000 (Nikolle L. Brown). A juvenile Brown Pelican landed on a raft near Grapevine Rapid on 24 June 2004, and the same or another bird was seen upstream near Lava-Chuar Rapid and downstream near Phantom Ranch during the same month.
